An Esalen® Meditation Workshop for LMTs
Meditation probably means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Its a word that gets a lot of traction right now in 2025. And so… what does meditation actually signify?
In Deep In, we will explore exactly that: the significance of meditation for you, and how to utilize this within a massage & bodywork practice. Okay, so what about Esalen?
Esalen has a multifaceted meaning and history …in its most simple iteration Esalen is a place in Big Sur, CA where Esalen Institute resides, and where the Esalen® Massage & Bodywork modality originated.
This 3-hr workshop will offer a further discussion of Esalen, and introduce you to few core principles of Esalen® Massage, one of which being the meditative space that brings both massage therapist and client into trance-like presence.
Participants will practice dropping into a new state of presence through a series of guided meditation activities. We will not be sitting the whole time. Various experiential exercises will engage you to move, interact, and practice giving and receiving therapeutic techniques, so you can sharpen the new massage therapy skills you learn. Deep In will start and end with group discussions on the learning objectives, and how all this relates to a bodywork practice.
The course material is focused for licensed massage and bodywork practitioners, but can be used by anyone, in any relational or touch-based practice.
If not filled within 5 days of June 1, remaining open spots will become available to estheticians and other licensed professionals in the wellness industry.
