About the Massage Practice

Haydyn Marina practicing with a massage client in an Esalen style gentle-hold
  • I’m Haydyn Marina (she/her/they), I own and operate my massage practice independently.

A Texas native, I moved to Asheville to study bodywork in Asheville, NC starting in 2020.

The timing and location of that genesis undoubtedly informed my practice as a massage and bodywork therapist. You can learn more about me and why I started my bodywork studio in Asheville here.

  • Certified in Esalen® Massage, my practice is meant to increase full-body awareness, minimize discomfort associated with physical touch, and to facilitate imaginative expansion.

My style is slow, graceful, artful, and meditative. Approaching the body like sculpture, I bring a multidimensional quality to the session so that my clients can feel truly held.

I use a variety of pressures, musculoskeletal techniques, and dance-like rhythms to help clients access their calmer, spontaneous, more-connected states of self.

I approach deep tissue work intuitively, listening to what the client describes during intake, noticing the non-verbal communication in session, and responding to where the body is asking for deeper work.

  • All bodies are welcome.

I work with all kinds of people, and welcome anyone seeking to partake in my practice. I am a trauma-informed practitioner with specific training in trauma-informed massage therapy, and thus I’m highly aware of my clients’ needs.

I often attract folks who appreciate a focused, careful, meditative, and committed therapeutic approach. This tends to be people who have been exposed to some form of trauma in their lives, however not necessarily. I work well with anyone who appreciates self-reflection, or luxurious relaxing touch.

Many of my clients are in the music & visual arts industries, are dancers, business owners, soloprenuers, and/or creatives in general.

I have a strong commitment to providing accessible bodywork for black, BIPOC, and queer folks, and working artists. I’m also hoping to reach more clients in search of palliative End of Life care. (Learn more about this in the Thanatos section of my blog here.)

    All bodies welcome.

If we find after starting bodywork together that you are looking for a technique I don’t specifically offer, I am happy to refer you to another practitioner.
